Where were you when she needed someone to watch her dog? nowhere
Where were you when she needed a place to stay? nowhere
Where were you when she needed help moving her stuff? nowhere
But you can offer her advice.
Doesn't quite cut it in the long run. You can do the easy stuff but when it gets tough, where are you? nowhere

Sadly, isn't that all too often the way of life though? It shouldn't be that way and the only way to change it is one person at a time. You set a fine example of just that kind of person who can keep plugging away and work at that ideal too though and my daughter and I can speak for your willingness to help in a long-distance, advice centered role though as a darned good thing and a great person to know, to have and be able to call a friend. Hope you never change that aspect of your being, Keith! I'm sure if we were within reaching distance, not of the cyberspace kind, you'd be the person we would find at our doorstep, sharing coffee, conversation and building community.
