The Seen and the Unseen

From the May 6th entry of the devotional written by Sarah Young - Jesus Calling (Enjoying Peace in His Presence

Do not search for security in the world you inhabit. You tend to make mental checklists of things you need to do in order to gain control of your life. If only you could check everything off your list, you could relax and be at peace. But the more you work to accomplish that goal, the more things crop up on your list. The harder you try, the more frustrated you become.

There is a better way to find security in this life. Instead of scrutinizing your checklist, focus your attention on My Presence with you. This continued contact with Me will keep you in My Peace. Moreover, I will help you sort out what is important and what is not, what needs to be done now and what does not. Fix your eyes on not what is seen (your circumstances0, but on what is unseen (My Presence).

2 Corinthians 4:18 (The Message)
16-18So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever.

Another way to use the Ten Step program, Keith. Turn it over to the Higher Power. Well, I know what my Higher Power's name is and I know yours has the same name too. Good post, my friend.
