Funny, I know a guy just like this. Heh!
I'm thinking that's the kind of logic going on at a church near where I live. A couple, friends of my daughters, having marital problems, spoke to their pastor about the issues and supposedly received a little counseling there. Then, things didn't pan out and they separated completely. After which, the pastor sent out a letter to the church officials and a select few others -plus the couple -that in essence revealed a lot of their issues and they were told that they would have to change their status (separated) and seek readmission to the church. Craziness, just craziness -as if the wife didn't already feel alienated enough, now this.
"Some" pastors like to send out letters expressing their power over you. They preach "love" but don't practice it. The pastor I was speaking of will not even meet with me until I "repent". Repent of what exactly I asked him. he was a good friend too. I extended the olive branch and he snapped it out of my hand and hit me with it.
But it's all good. I'm in a much better place now.
Peace!
Keith
