This guy is the pastor of a church in Topeka Kansas. Glad I don't go to this church! Here's what he said about the death of our U.S. Troops...

Phelps believes the deaths of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and the 2001 terrorist attacks are an angry God's punishment for the country's tolerance of homosexuality. "This nation has ticked off the Almighty, and it's too late to repent," he says.

Fred Phelps is the epitome of the unChristian Christian. He was the butt of a "Top 10" list I did 10 years ago. It was called "The top 10 Baptist jokes" and it was really corny, twisting Bible verses into silly jokes like 'when were motorcycles first mentioned in the Bible?' 'And Moses rode across the desert on the victory of his triumph'" or something like that. The #1 Baptist joke? "Fred Phelps." He and his clan showed up at Promise Keepers at Kemper Arena a couple of weekends ago. He protested the training of counselors for the Billy Graham Crusade last year at College Church of the Nazarene (the home church at my alma mater, Mid America Nazarene University). All times with his big "God Hates Fags" platform. Literally. That's what some of his picket signs said. I just don't get the guy.
