L-L-O-Y-D.

I'm skipping the letter thing and I'll tell you how, second hand, I got my middle name.

My father's name was George Lloyd. His first name comes from my Grandfather. Back in 1921, people were often born at home, as was Dad. There was some talk back and forth about giving him a middle name taken from a relative, but it wasn't going anywhere.

As I understand the story, when babies were on the way back then, companies that catered to parents expecting delivered stuff to the house: formula, etc. One of the companies made baby buggies, now strollers. It delivered a calendar with it's name at the top: "Lloyd's." Neutral enough for the family.

I'm told when I came along, the same ploy was employed so as to not offend the family members and I got the neutral middle name.

I should note that first names in my family are traditionally not taken from family. After me, my two younger brothers got a middle name from family, one on my Dad's side and one from Mom's.

You're going to have to make do with this, though I'm sure I would have used the word lovable for one of the "L's" had I played the game.
