Phoenix sets Heat Record

My office had a deluge of media calls from across the country about our record of the number of days in a year at or above 110 degrees.

Kincaid said the Phoenix high will be 110 F on Friday. By the weekend, Arizona's biggest city will cool slightly so 2007 is likely to end with a record 31 days that were hotter than 110 degrees F.

It actually ended up 32 days and not the 31. But what does it matter? It's been a long hot summer.
